UALR Student Chapter

The recently formed ACI student chapter is composed of students in the Department of Construction Management and Civil and Construction Engineering. In fall 2015, fourteen of sixteen candidates passed the ACI Field Technician certification and four of eight candidates passed the ACI Flatwork certification. Students constructed a scale model reinforced concrete building in the concrete construction class. Students are eager to participate in student activities and the upcoming ARMCA meeting this spring. A UALR student shared first place honors with a student from UA Fayetteville from Arkansas ACI for his research proposal for substitution of stone dust for concrete sand. Students are experimenting with mix designs for a concrete bowling ball.
